Finally Know Which Ad Is Driving Your Calls: Attractzen Now Labels Phone Sources by Platform

October 24, 2026

You're Spending on Ads. Do You Know Which Ones Are Actually Driving Calls?

If your business runs ads on Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, or Bing — and you also use call tracking — there's always been a frustrating gap: the calls would come in, but the attribution was fuzzy. Many Facebook ad calls showed up labeled simply as "Facebook" or worse, "Direct," making it nearly impossible to tie ad spend to real phone conversations.

That gap is now closed in Attractzen. Your call tracking number pool now correctly identifies the ad platform behind every inbound call — automatically, with nothing to configure.

What Changed

Your call reports and call detail records now display accurate, platform-specific source labels for inbound calls. Here's what you'll see:

  • Facebook Paid — Calls that originate from Facebook ad campaigns are now labeled correctly instead of falling back to "Facebook" or "Direct."
  • TikTok, LinkedIn, and Microsoft (Bing) ads — Calls from these platforms are now labeled by their originating network, giving you full multi-platform visibility.
  • Google app-click ads — Calls coming from Google ads that were clicked inside mobile apps are now labeled separately from standard Google search clicks.
  • UTM-tagged links — If your ad URL includes utm_medium=cpc, the source automatically displays as the platform name plus "Paid" — for example, "Bing Paid" — so your custom tracking parameters are honored.
  • AI referrals — Visits arriving from ChatGPT and similar AI-powered tools now appear as their own labeled source, reflecting how modern discovery actually works.

Why This Matters for Your Marketing ROI

Call attribution has always been the missing link in multi-channel ad measurement. When you can see that a Facebook campaign drove 47 calls this week while a TikTok campaign drove 12, you can make confident decisions about where to put more budget — and where to pull back.

Without accurate labels, that data is noise. Every call that fell into "Direct" or an ambiguous platform label was a missed opportunity to connect ad spend to real business outcomes.

Now, your Attractzen call reports give you a cleaner, more honest picture of which channels are earning their place in your marketing mix.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

  • No setup required. Your number pool tracking script updates itself. There's nothing to turn on, reconfigure, or resubmit.
  • New calls only. The improved labels apply to calls received going forward. Historical call records keep the source label they were assigned at the time.
  • Some calls will still show as "Direct." When a visitor's browser strips referrer data and the link carries no ad tracking code, there's genuinely no source to report. Those calls will continue to appear as Direct.
  • Priority order when multiple codes exist. If a visitor's URL contains tracking codes from more than one platform, the first match wins: Google is checked first, then Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.

Where to Find Your Updated Call Data

Head into your Attractzen Reporting section and open your call reports or individual call detail records. The source column now reflects the improved platform labels for all calls received after this update.

If you run campaigns across multiple channels and use call tracking as part of your lead attribution strategy, now is a great time to review your call sources and see how the picture has sharpened.
