Keep Your Community Clean: Automated Content Moderation Is Now Built Into Attractzen

September 30, 2026

Protecting Your Community Just Got Automatic

Running a healthy, engaged community takes real effort — and nothing derails that faster than spam, rule-breaking posts, or inappropriate content slipping through. Attractzen communities now include a built-in content moderation system that catches problematic posts and comments before they ever reach your feed.

This is automatic. It runs in the background. And it scales with your community as it grows.

What's New: A Full Moderation Toolkit

Keyword and Phrase Flagging

Set the words, phrases, and domains you don't want in your community. Any post or comment matching a flagged keyword is automatically held for review before it goes live — it never reaches your feed.

Matching is case-insensitive. Attractzen recommends using phrases over single words for precision, and includes a built-in starter pack of common spam and scam phrases so you can be protected from day one with a single click.

There's also a Try Your Rules testing tool — paste sample text to confirm your keyword rules behave exactly the way you intend before anything goes live.

The Reviewer Queue

Flagged content lands in a dedicated Needs Review tab. As a community admin, you can see exactly which keyword triggered the flag, preview the full post or comment in context, and either Approve & Publish or Remove it — in one click. Flagged content stays completely invisible to the rest of the community until you decide.

Member Reporting

Community members can now report posts and comments directly. Reported content surfaces in its own Reported by Members tab so admin-flagged and member-reported content stay cleanly separated. You can see who reported the content, review the full thread, and choose to Keep or Remove it.

Author Transparency

Members who submit a post that gets held for review still see their own post with a clear In Review status on their timeline. No confusion, no lost posts — just full transparency for the author while the content stays hidden from everyone else.

Instant Admin Notifications

The moment something is flagged, admins are notified via email, in-app alert, and push notification. Nothing slips through unnoticed, even when you're not actively logged into your community dashboard.

Admin and Owner Content Always Goes Through

Content moderation rules only apply to member-generated content. Posts and comments from admins and community owners publish immediately, without any review hold.

Also Improved: Community Search

Post and comment search got a meaningful upgrade at the same time. Search now handles typos, different phrasing, synonyms, and non-English or accented characters — so members find what they're looking for even when they don't type it exactly. Results now rank by relevance instead of newest-first, so the most useful content surfaces at the top.

How to Set It Up

  1. Go to Settings → Content Moderation inside your community.
  2. In the Keywords tab, add your flagged words and phrases — or click Add Starter Pack to load common spam phrases instantly.
  3. Use the Try Your Rules tool to test sample text against your keyword list before going live.
  4. Once active, flagged content will appear automatically in the Needs Review tab for your action.
  5. Member-reported content appears separately under Reported by Members.

Why This Matters as Your Community Grows

Reviewing every post manually works when a community is small. It doesn't scale. Content moderation gives you a proactive, automated first line of defense — catching problematic content before it reaches your feed rather than requiring you to clean up after the fact. As AI-powered spam detection is added to this same foundation in a future update, the system will become even smarter over time.
